Girt By Sea is a musical and cinematic love letter to the coastline of Australia - a poetic celebration of Australia's connection to the sea as documented over the past 100 years.
Directed by Shane McNeil 'Girt By Sea' is a lyrical interpretation of Australian’s relationship to the coast – in work, in play and beyond. The National Film and Sound Archive and the ABC Archives opened their vaults to reveal the richness and variety of stories and lives on Australia’s vast seaboard.
The archival footage is accompanied by a newly commissioned soundtrack composed by award-winning Australian band, The Panics.
